Connecticut Magazine released its annual "Top Doctors" issue today, featuring the state's most outstanding physicians who are noted for their exemplary patient care, according to Castle Connolly. This year’s list includes 128 Yale Cancer Center (YCC) and Smilow Cancer Hospital (SCH) physicians, a 17 percent increase since last year.

"It is with great pride that we acknowledge the 128 physicians who’ve been recognized this year," said Dr. Eric Winer, director of YCC and president and physician-in-chief of SCH. "Our mission at Yale Cancer Center and Smilow Cancer Hospital is to deliver the very best cancer care, while also striving to improve treatments for our patients now and in the future. We also are dedicated to ensuring that all the patients we serve benefit from equitable access to cancer care as well as research advances through clinical trials."

Top Doctors is a peer-nominated award that honors the top seven percent of practicing physicians in the United States for their clinical expertise. Connecticut Magazine partners with Castle Connolly, a leading national health care research firm, to compile the annual list of Connecticut’s leading physicians. The complete list appears in the May 2025 issue of the magazine. Castle Connolly also recognized Yale earlier this year with a special accolade for outstanding specialty : first in Connecticut and second in the nation.
